Description
Detailed Description: Story behind the painting – Devi Parvati, one fine day went to bathe with her retinue of attendants in a lake in the woods. Not wanting to be disturbed or intruded upon during their bath Devi decided to appoint a guard and protector for themselves. Scraping off some fragrant turmeric, sandalwood and clay paste that anointed her body, along with some of her skin cells, Devi lovingly shaped a little boy who was to act as a protector. She claimed him as a beloved son and blessed him with all forms of divine powers.
Composed of earth and Devi Shakti the young boy shone with divine radiance and is venerated as Haldi Ganesha. His energy comes across as playful, brimming with childlike innocence and affection. When invoked with love and sincere devotion he offers protection from all harm and is a harbinger of auspiciousness
